Dua Lipa is a English artist and musician born on August 22nd of 1995 in London United Kingdom. After a stint as an actress and model she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in 2017. It reached third place in the U.K. albums chart and included eight singles, which included her U.K. top-ten single New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa won the Brit Awards in 2018 as a British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act, and her album has been declared platinum in a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was born London on the 22nd of August, 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. She is of Bosnian descendance through her maternal grandparents. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestors to Peja within Kosovo. Lipa's two grandfathers are both historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is main guitarist and lead singer of the Kosovan The rock band Oda. Her father played music at home and sang songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of was five years old. When she was nine years old, she began singing in the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang If I'm Not Gotta You by Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. Her record deal to Warner Bros. Records was signed in the year 2014. Her debut single New Love was released in August, 2015.
