Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. She is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta, beginning with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. The Robertses' father was interested in the theatre at a young age. When he was a student of Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus and in Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in the year 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter and his wife left their Air Force service in the year 1957 and enrolled Walter at Tulane University. Walter was recruited to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies, which aired in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show that was aimed at children, called Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project that they funded themselves. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It was in operation for a period of 6 years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) and Julia (also known as Julie) at the time.
