Angela Gossow Urach

Angela Gossow grew up in Cologne along with her three siblings. When she was 17, her parents divorced. Further financial troubles came in when their business went bankrupt. Being anorexic and bulimic further contributed to her problems. Gossow's response to her decision to not continue as the vocalist of ARCH ENEMY was a simple one It was that there is a right and wrong timing for every thing. When I started in 1991, I was just beginning my professional career. I had lost the excitement of in this position, living my life out on the road. Then I decided not to be a fool anymore, but instead quit. The group was initially fronted Johan Liiva, who was then substituted by German vocalist Angela Gossow.
