RosieQueen Latifah was born Dana Elaine Owens on March 18, 1970, in Newark, New Jersey. Latifah was the second daughter of Lance Owens and Rita Owens is well-known for her acting and social-politics abilities, as well as her gift for rhyme. A Muslim cousin has given Latifah the title "delicate, sensitive" when she was just eight years old.
